Birds of a Feather | original, framed

In Birds of a Feather, a sense of organic, collective movement is harnessed beneath a structural epoxy resin webbing rich with mystic opal pigment. Whether the organic base communicates a sea of birds or an ambiguous landscape to the viewer, the cellular structure acts as a connective tissue, adding a sense of movement to the abstract depiction of nature.

I have developed this technique to explore the dialogue between spontaneity and control, nature (or emotion) and imposed structure. Together, they carry both tension and harmony, which captures the duality of so many aspects of our lives.
