original artwork

Original Artwork is a one-of-a-kind piece: the actual canvas that I hand-painted with the highest-quality professional materials.

Original Artwork is generally considered the most valuable type of artwork, and often features visible paint strokes, texture, and maximum visual interest.

And, armed with your Certificate of Authenticity, it will undoubtedly be worth a lot more than you paid for it some day! ;)

giclee canvas prints

Giclee (zhee-KLAY) canvas prints are intended to look like original art. Much of the canvas art sold at big-box and other retail stores are giclee prints.

My giclee canvas prints are created from high-resolution photographs of original pieces, which are printed with museum-grade pigment ink on premium fine art canvas (gallery profile, which is the same profile I typically paint originals on).

Giclee prints feature a tremendous amount of detail found in the Original, and while they are not actually metallic or textured the same way an Original might be (aside from the varnish), texture and light come through visually.

Giclee prints also have more optionality than Original artwork, in that they're available in various sizes, color profiles, and varnishes, and are available with custom framing options.

Framed prints offer a sleek, low-profile presentation created from a high-resolution photograph of an Original, which is printed on fine art paper (glossy, satin, matte, or canvas paper) and framed by hand in the style and finish of your choice, with or without a mat.

They feature a tremendous amount of detail found in the Original, and while they are not actually metallic or textured the same way an Original might be, texture and light come through visually.

Framed prints also have more optionality than Original artwork, in that they're available in various sizes and color profiles.

Vibrant Pink Painting - Abstract Original

Acrylic prints are your most modern, vibrant and polished option. They're created from a high-resolution photograph of an Original, which is printed on 99.9% optically pure acrylic with the latest technology in flatbed printing.

They're available in various sizes, thicknesses, and color profiles, and are mounted with either metal stand-off corner pegs (pictured) or a back-mount floating frame with an optional wire or cleat.

Commission Process

Interested in commissioning a custom painting? I'd love to create something special for you - and the process is fun!

Here's what you can expect:

  1. Fill out the Commission Inquiry form with as much information as you're able to share. Be as specific as possible about what you're looking for - but if you're not really sure yet, that's ok, too! We can figure it out together.
  2. I'll reach out to kick off our collaboration and agree on next steps.
  3. Once we've decided on the size/scope of the project, I will send you a price quote with expected turnaround time. If you decide to move forward, I will send an invoice for a 15% deposit to get started.
  4. I will touch base with you periodically while I work on your piece(s), and you will have an opportunity to share any feedback, request adjustments, etc.
  5. Once the painting is finalized (and you LOVE it!), I'll coordinate all aspects of framing (if/as you request), send a final invoice (less your deposit), and arrange for delivery!

Framing

Original Artwork

Interested in amping up the polish of your original piece with a custom canvas floating frame? I work with the most trusted professional framers in the area, known for their exceptional quality and craftsmanship, and will source the best quality, style, and pricing for your needs.

I will personally communicate with you every step of the way - from understanding what you're looking for to selecting your frame in person to coordinating delivery and installation (if/as needed).

Giclee Canvas Prints

Polish your giclee canvas print with a canvas floating frame in the perfect style for your space, custom built with high-quality materials and expertly framed by my trusted printing partner.

I will personally communicate with you every step of the way to select the perfect frame and ensure smooth (and free!) delivery directly from my printing partner to your doorstep.

Frameless Wiring

Original Artwork + Giclee Prints

My original pieces and giclee prints are made to be hung with or without a frame, the latter of which is considered by some to be a bit more modern.

If you're feeling the frameless vibe but still want your canvas wired for optimal hanging, I will coordinate professional wiring of your canvas (once we establish your desired orientation) so it's ready to transform your space as soon as you receive it.

My two cents

Whether or not to frame is really a personal choice. That said, some (fully subjective) food for thought, if helpful:

-Original art with finished/painted sides are the best candidates for going frameless. They show the craftsmanship of the original painting, including texture, but are still polished even on a side angle.

-Original art with unfinished/raw sides are piece-dependent; sometimes the organic patterns of the paint are cool/edgy/pretty, and sometimes they add unnecessary busy-ness to the aesthetic of a room and would benefit from being nestled within a frame.

-Giclee prints are created by wrapping printed canvas around stretcher bars. This looks super polished, but the crispness of the printed edge can make it a bit more obvious (at least to a trained eye) that you have a print rather than an original piece.

Shipping + Delivery

Original Artwork

Local: If you are local to north-central New Jersey, a driver will hand-deliver your piece(s) at a mutually convenient time.

Two-day delivery is often available for pieces that don't require custom framing. Inquire for a specific delivery window.

Distance: If you are not local to north-central New Jersey, your piece(s) will be delivered via a delivery service or shipped via FedEx with tracking.

Inquire with your delivery location for more information on shipping and delivery.

Your piece(s) will, of course, be carefully wrapped and protected for transport.

Reproductions + Prints

All giclee canvas prints, framed prints, and acrylic prints will be quality checked, carefully packaged, and shipped to you directly from my printing partner - for free in the USA and Canada.

I will confirm shipping timeline with you prior to placing your order.

Installation

Original Artwork

Professional installation services may be available for original artwork, depending on your location.

This service takes into account wall unevenness, foot traffic volume, and other circumstances that can impact how beautifully your artwork hangs over time.

FAQ

I'm interested in purchasing more than one piece. Do you offer a loyalty discount?

Yes! I always want you to know how much I appreciate your patronage.

If you purchase more than one piece in the same order, I will happily extend a 10% discount on the entire order.

Can I see what a piece would look like in my room?

Yes! Whether you're interested in an original, a print, or a commissioned piece, just send me an inquiry and let me know that you want to see what the piece(s) would look like in your room. I'll email or text you asking for a photo of your room / the space where you'd like to see the piece(s), and we'll go from there.

What does it mean that a print is available in multiple color profiles?

One of the fun things about prints is that we can digitally adjust the color profile of the piece - from minor adjustments (e.g. from a warm neutral to a cool neutral), to full re-coloring (from the dominant color being orange, to the dominant color being blue). Happy to show you samples or explore options with any prints - just reach out via the inquiry form.

What if I don't love my commissioned piece?

I'd like to caveat that this has never happened before, but in the event that you aren't obsessed with the final piece I create for you, you won't buy it! You can, of course, apply your deposit to any future commission or other KDA purchase.
