a bit about me
As a lifelong visual artist, I strive to create contemporary artwork that is both fun + fine: grounded in the principles of design, technique, and quality that make art fine, while exuding a spirit of joyfulness and fun that makes collectors, and their walls, feel a little more alive. That sort of art (and person!) makes for good company.
I am formally trained in a variety of styles, mediums, and techniques, but the majority of my current work is focused on abstract acrylic and related mediums. I draw inspiration from the natural world including landscapes, seascapes, and organic surfaces, and have a particular affinity for texture, metallics, and vibrant pops of color. (You, too, I hope?)

art story
I was drawn to portraiture from a young age and, as I got older, aspired to hyper-realism. In high school, I developed a passion for digital photography and digital image manipulation, and often used my photos as inspiration for my drawings.
So, it was a surprise to no one that Visual Art was one of my majors in college, with de facto concentrations in drawing and digital photography. I also grew to love painting and abstraction, and I'm pleased to report that we're still happily married.
I held a solo exhibition my senior year at Brown, and won a couple of awards for my work. I also spent time at RISD, and when I was home, took courses at the School of Visual Art in NYC.
My work recently debuted in the national fine art line of John-Richard, and will be available soon at Horchow / Neiman Marcus. Locally, I held a solo exhibition at Overlook Medical Center in 2022, and am thrilled to be featured in the upcoming duo exhibition at Madison Art Gallery supporting Morristown Medical Center (2024-2025).
There is so much I still have to learn, and I am grateful to continue my arts education at the Visual Arts Center of NJ to expand my toolkit and have another excuse to make art. I especially love teaching and making art with my two sons, whose curiosity, vision, and natural talents baffle and thrill me.
